One of the grand benefits of living and relaxing in Pasco County, and the great state of Florida, is the weather. Sure, we have our cold snaps and rain, but for the most part, it’s sunny and warm. Even in January, the average temperate is 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
Given our glorious environment, it’s beneficial to have outlets for outdoor activities. Depending on the chill in the air, or your level of bravery, swimming may not be at the top of the list of things to do, but Pasco County offers a variety of parks, both indoor and outdoor, with and without our four-legged best friends.
The Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources website offers details on what’s what and where, but we’ve got just about everything:
- Dog parks
- Beach parks
- Athletic parks
- Freshwater lakes and Gulf coast opportunities
- Wilderness parks
- Greenways and Blueways
- Paddling our waterways is an excellent way to take in the natural resources and view the wildlife
- Oh, and Pasco County boasts Florida’s largest inflatable aqua park!
Remember to always wear sunblock—the sun is no joke—when heading out for the day or even a few hours. Pack lots of water, snacks and have a towel and your bathing suit on hand at all times.
One never knows when a random day will turn into a beach day!
